Gatherings... Weddings...

I've had rather many activities recently, but was too lazy to update my blog again.. Tsk tsk.. Taking the time now to write something here since I'm doing my face mask and I cannot wear my headset to watch shows... LOL...

Let's see, it's been a pretty bz Dec... From cousin's weddings, graduations, poly gatherings, friends weddings etc... I mentioned about my cousin's wedding and graduation in previous post... So now, here's more updates on whom I met and what I did...

Met up with Shihua on 11 Dec... Then following Thurs, 18 Dec was one of my friend's wedding. Congrats to Junwei & Lucy on your big day. It was held in Holiday inn @ Atrium and the food was good... Had a key for the wedding gift too and it's pretty nice. Met up with some old friends that night.. This group of friends, including the groom, were friends from my ex-MLM business. Did not take any photos as I din bring my camera with me. But it was kind of embarassing when the groom's mum recognize me at first sight and I din... Why is that so? Apparently, I was the first lady Junwei brought back home and that time his mum chatted a long long time with me, that's why she had a deep impression of me... Haha...

Traffic home that night was bad... No cab in sight after 30 mins of waiting, and I had to call for a cab. 2 unreasonable uncles were damn pissed coz no cab and scolded the hotel staff, but it was not their fault in the fierce place. So worried a fight would break coz I was first in line... :P

******************************************************************

Following that, last Thursday on Xmas day... I was working in office for 10 hours straight. It was pretty cool since everyone's out for celebration, so not many calls and tickets. Was watching shows non stop in the office to pass time.. :P Then after work at 6pm, took a cab down to Yishun as Victor & Huixin has invited me to join in the NPBS gathering at their home... Met up with a lot of seniors and it was fun... there were 2 babies for me to play... Heee... Baby Thedore & Baby Louisha... We played some nice games too and had gift exchange. Victor & Huixin have a dog called Cobi, very mischevious and keep following me... Apparently, so many ppl who went, only when I reached, he din bark when I rang the doorbell... Yuan fen? Haha...

Auntie Cindy with Baby Thedore... Kept laughing that night and when I left, he cried.. I was carrying him most of that night, till his mum Peiling ask me to bring him home with me... lol.. he's 12 months old

Next, we have Baby Louisha.. Din have a chance to carry this 4 month old BB as she was asleep most of the time.. except for this when I took the pic...

This is Cobi... Hohoho... Adpoted by Victor & Huixin...

that's me.. opening my pressie... Haha... we did not manage to take a group photo that night though...

Thanks Shihua... One of my best friends!

This post is specially dedicated to one of my best friends, Shihua... I got to know her during the US trip when we were in poly. Though in different years and different course. we clicked very well... Heee....

I met up with her for dinner last Thursday night and was so touched and surprised coz she got me a very nice handbag from Little Match Girl. I happened to see the price tag and was so so so shocked, I sms her to thank her again... Heee... Thanks dear for the thought! Din expect gifts for my graduation! Let me see when I take a photo of the bag one of these days so I can post it up here...

We had dinner at the Japanese shop at JP (forgot the name). JP (Jurong Point) new extension just opened on Wed and we went shop shop on Thursday. I think she buay tahan, coz I'm not one who likes shopping, so along the way, though we were chatting and laughing, I was yawning most of the times and kept wanting to go home sleep... Haha... Thanks dear also for helping me to choose the Xmas gift which I needed for the poly Buddhist Society gathering, heee...

Congrats to my cousin Baozhu!

Next, will be the events and photos taken for my cousin's wedding in JB. in my previous post, I mentioned that 3rd uncle drove us down to JB for the wedding dinner. We reached Granny's place at about 5pm and had a short rest there. Had wanted to bath and change into my other set of clothes but due to too many ppl were there and so it was quite impossible to use the toilets for bathing.. so I wore the clothes which I wore for graduation. :P

It was pretty "re nao". Total of 8 cars were needed to bring all my relatives and also my cousin's mum side relatives to the venue. My cousin stayed next door to my granny, so everyone was gathered there. My 6th aunt took the lead and I was in her car, together with Granny and 2 little cousins. I had to be constantly looking back to ensure the 6 other cars are following well, hoho.. else we will need to stop to wait for them to catch up. Also, I took several photos with my cousins and aunts etc.. It's been years since they last took any photos, so I acted as their photographer last night... Tsk tsk...

Little Huaiyi in his mum's car... He n his big sister, Yilin alwiz talk to me non stop.. tsk tsk..

Taken in the makeup room in the hotel... Isn't my cousin pretty? She's 3 years older than me..

They are the youngest cousins amongst all of us... over 20 cousins from my mum's side

Me with my little nephew... Mayb next year there's another 2-3 nephews/neices coming up... Lots of cousins married this year... Heard another one already pregnant, but not close to her at all.. so...

My 3rd aunt.. .this is her grandson lor... Haha.. Baby's name is Yan Jin..

Granny, mum.. and my aunts and me lor... My mum is eldest sister, followed by 2nd aunt in grey and my 3rd aunt.. "hiding" behind... Haha

Me, 6th aunt, 3rd aunt, 2nd aunt & mum... Lots of them say if I'm skinnier, I'm the exact model of my 6th aunt. Last time when I was younger and go Granny's house, she alwiz mistaken me for my 6th aunt. Our childhood photos also look exactly the same! Haha.. Now I've grown sidesway.. :P

Me & Cousin Liping.. My 3rd uncle's daughter... She's 5 years younger than me

2nd uncle and 3rd uncle.. with their wives.. 2nd uncle stays in Sabah, and 3rd in KL

Standing guy is my cousin-in-law... He too bz last night, so among all pics I took last night, only this has him...

Me & Yilin... My small cousin who alwiz sticks with me, haha

Me & Baozhu again.. This time only me & her... We're quite close.. Was supposed to be her bridesmaid but coz I had graduation to attend, so in the end my sis gotta help her out. Feel so bad that I flew her aeroplane... :P

By the time we got home last night, it was 1am plus.. by the time unpacked and bathe etc, only got in bed in 2am.. so tired that I slept till 11am this morning. :P

Horray, I'm officially a graduand now!

Congratulations to me!!! I'm finally an official graduand now! I just got back from Malaysia yesterday after a long hectic but wonderful weekend....

On Sat evening, my parents and I went to Novena Square to take coach to KL for my graduation ceremony... We had dinner there and as there was still an hour left after dinner, we went walk walk around and watched some ice-skating show in the centre before proceeding to take the coach to KL. I booked First Coach coz it was cheaper and more comfortable. Each passenger also had their own personalized Movies to choose from. Quite a big variety but too bad I din prepare any headset, so only watched 2 "slient" cartoons - Ice Age and Finding Nemo. I've watched finding Nemo b4 but it's nice to watch again. Din really have any interest in the chinese or english shows since there's no headset so quite meaningless. I actually loved Ice Age... Haha... We set off at 6.30pm and luckily there were no jams at the Tuas link for coach, so we got to KL at 11pm, instead of the originally planned 11.30pm to 12am. My 3rd uncle fetched us from Bangsar LRT there and brought us to a nearby place for great supper. Malaysia zhi-char is really good... yum yum..

Then we went to 3rd uncle's home to rest for a night. 2nd morning, I woke up at 7am to prepare b4 I woke my parents up. Then uncle brought us to bf b4 proceeding to the graduation ceremony. The pic in the website I posted showed it to be a very grand place right? But actually it's not really that grand. :P However, it was nice and I'm glad I din miss it. A lot of my friends din go, say very far and too ex.. but I listed to idol, it's once in a lifetime, so must go....

There were about 250-280 graduands from all levels of the college, from certifications to MBA, all levels... Pretty nice and I was glad the person who presented my degree to me was the one guest invited from UK campus... Heee... Looks more impressive. My parents wanted to take photo of me from the back when I was receiving my scroll, but too many graduands were moving in and out, so in the end, only see a lots of heads. Haha... But I did order the photos from the photo company - Fotorex, together with an individual portrait as well as family portrait. Think will only receive them in late Jan... So let's see how they go. :D Below are some of the pics we took yesterday when we were there... The rest can be found on my Flickr account:-

Me & Mum.. Taken b4 the ceremony.. The bouquet of bears were given to me by my parents! Thanks mum & dad...

Me & my lecturer... He taught me several modules and was also my thesis supervisor. Thanks sir for the help so I could get such high marks else won't b able to garner 2nd Upp Division.

Taken with the person holding the nice nice thing at the doorway...

The stage... Not clear coz the lighting in the ballroom was very dark and my dad doesn't know the features of my camera...

Taken by my dad from afar when I was lining up, waiting for my turn go up to stage to get my scroll. That's me. shortest in  the q.. facing my dad..

Right after ceremony... My motarboard was dropping and hands were full with bouquest and my degree paper... That's y I looked so weird. :P

with mum after the ceremony.. Taken outside...

With dad...

With parents & my 3rd uncle and his 2 sons... both of them are my little cousins.. lol

My long-awaited scroll.. Should I go laminate it? Heee...

Close up of the bouquet when my parents got me... it's ex, mind u.. this cost RM$80... They wanted to get flowers, i told them no.. Flowers can only keep few days, so I chose this myself... haha...

After that, we took 3rd uncle's car and drove down all the way to JB, my granny's place to attend my cousin's wedding. Will be posting separately on those pics and descriptions... :)

Coincidences?

Well, today I had intended to leave for home directly after I knocked off at 5pm... But as fate arranges it, I din... Went to the bus stop to wait for bus, reached there at 5.05pm and there were some many ppl waiting already. Not a good sign. My company is located in an industrial area in Woodlands and only 1 bus service is serving that area. At 5.10pm, a bus came along but it was already 3/4 full so you can imagine not many ppl managed to get on it. Then at 5.20pm and 5.30pm, another 2 buses came respectively and the situation was the same. So I decided to go back company to wait for the 6.15pm company bus to come home... Can save on bus fare and also get home about the same timing - 6.35pm.

I went back to my desk and surfed net then at 6pm, went to the ladies before going to wait for the bus downstairs... Saw Hwee Leng, the Sales mgr there and we chatted... She's juz staying at the block besides mine, so most times we'd be chatting while waiting for the bus, even in the mornings. Then Lyn & Esther joined us shortly and we all chatted a lot on the bus. Esther's daughter is in P2 and there were some Maths qns which she dunno, so we were discussing those on the bus journey and then I found that both Hwee Leng and Esther were my seniors! Hwee Leng is 8 years older than me, and we were from the same primary school... Esther is 11 years older than me and we were from the same Sec School! What a coincidence... Had quite a good time catching up, though they graduated much earlier than me, but we shared a few same teachers... lol!

They were commending I was so young! Haha... Told them 26 is not that young, but as ladies, they compared me to them and said I very young... Ticked me... haha... It was a nice trip back and Esther even joked, next time got questions about her daughter's school work or assessment, she will call me to log tickets... haha....

Omg... I spent so much the last weekend!

Sigh, I cannot believe it! I actually spent almost up to $200 on last Saturday alone! I jio-ed my dear Apple-mei to accompany me to go shopping at IMM as I knew there were great discounts there. I needed to buy stuffs to prepare for my convocation next Sunday... (Fast hor? So fast Dec liao...).... Another year gone like that...

We met up at 11 plus at IMM then went about shopping. Usually, she'd be the one buying and I'm not interested to window shop so will be damn bored. But this time round, I broke my own record, shopped and bought a lot of stuffs... Totalled the amount and it was about $165!!! Omg... I spent so much.. sob sob, burnt big hole in my pocket.

What I bought:-
- Pair of heels for convocation
- A formal skirt for convocation
- Facial, Toner and Marvel gel for face... All these are getting low now so need to restock
- DVD for my mum
- Presents for my students.. (Not bad, my PSLE student got 3Bs and 1A, so got him a set of scrabble game. The other P2 gal, as mentioned b4, got over 95 marks for all 3 subjects, so got her a Uno Stacko game)
- Pair of cloth shoes, needed for religious class. My old ones broke..

I think that's about it... Unbelieveable!

Is it a crime?

To feel sick and tired and no one to complain to? Facts are never put into place and so misunderstandings are not cleared.

Craziest and noisiest night...

Aragh... I'm having a damn bad headache now! The reason? I'm going crazy over the loud noise pollution going on in the neighbourhood.... Imagine this, right at my void deck, there are Malays n Indians singing, dunno for what festival... Then at the grass patch right between my block and the LRT station, there's another chinese getai going on... When both group of people "sing at the same time", the noise is defeaning and damn irritating... I dun think I can go rest early tonight as planned with all this stupid noise going on? Can it happen this way? 2-3 different sources of noise pollution in a single Sunday night....

Oh God help me... Will it end by 10pm? :P :(
So sad.......
